Russian coach Vladimier Podobin, coach to a world champion, has visited the island to assist our local coaches.

GSSE, MonacoMay 2007- GSSE Games, Monaco

GymStars produced a historical result winning a bronze medal in this event. Philip Caruana Turner, a GymStars gymnast, won this medal while representing Malta in The Small Nations Games. The Malta Team was also made up of four other club athletes: Francesca Borg, Audrey Schembri, Nicolette Schembri and Roxanne Bonnici. Caruana Turner now also forms part of the Elite School of Excellence funded by the Malta Olympic Committee. GymStars was very proud of their athletes, particularly Philip Caruana Turner!

International Competition, HollandJune 2007 - International Competition, Holland

The club participated in a highly competitive competition in Holland. The competition saw the participation of various strong clubs from all over the world such as Slovakia, Czeck Republic, Russia and Sweden. Both teams performed very well and produced promising results. The two teams won Overall Cups for the event. Well done girls! GymStars encourages all its atheletes to have fun and do well!

The Club again succesfully organised an International Competition that saw a record number of local and foreign athletes competing. Below is the list of results obtained in the various categories:

International Competition, BelgiumNovember 2007 - International Competition Belgium

The Club took up 4 teams of athletes made up of a group of our most promising gymnasts. It was a very tough competition with numerous international talent taking part. However, our athletes proved themselves worth the competition producing several positive placings. GymStars athletes placed themselves slightly below the 10th position, placing themselves before strong teams such as Russia. Such teams consituted of professional athletes preparing themselves for their national teams.
